Description
Ujiplus is an organically fortified porridge flour that has clinically proven to be effective for the treatment of schistosomiasis in children under six years. There is currently no approved treatment for children in this population bracket. When given as a snack, Ujiplus not only has deworming capabilities but is also highly nutritive and treats some common child skin infections. Its dosing period is one month giving a daily cup of 300ml porridge per child. The product is patented and licensed for distribution in Kenya by the Kenya Poisons and Pharmacy Board. A factory for large scale production is on construction in Kisumu, Western Kenya.
