TuberNia is a program that utilises ODK kits offers prevention of Tuberculosis and Pneumonia. TuberNia works with community health workers who have an ODK software installed on their mobile phone for data gathering and recording. The target group are children and adults in rural communities and IDP Camps. The overall goals are to educate parents and teenagers on the prevention of Tuberculosis and Pneumonia in their local dialect and to determine people who are affected after a careful and simple test where they are linked to the closest health care centre. Currently the major community of activities are in Garum Mallam, Gaya, Toro and Ilela in Nigeria. The Tuberculosis and Pneumonia preventioneducational program reached over 70% of adults, 50% of teenagers and 28% of children. Additionally, 30% of adults, 10% of children and 25% of teenagers were referred to health care centres close to their community. The program has noticed an over 50% reduction in Tuberculosis and Pneumonia cases in the outreach areas.
