The "Smart Chair Patient Monitoring System" is a diagnostic chair that electronically measures and records a patient's vital signs using an in built sensor. When the patient sits on the chair, the device automatically measures various indicators such as blood pressure and blood glucose levels and automatically sends data to the linked hospital database. The data can then be analyzed and show trends in the patient's vital signs. Compared to the current manual system, the Smart Chair Patient Monitoring System looks to reduce nurses' workload by documenting and measuring vital signs one at a time. As a result the smart chair improves their efficiency while increasing the quality of care delivered to patients with the availability of continuous data trends of vital signs showing outliers quickly. Furthermore the smart chair effectively protects nurses from occupational hazards and the risk of diseases transferred through air, skin, and blood to measure a patient's vital signs.
