Vizta.io provides in real-time COVID-19 vaccination progress across 21 African countries with spatial data functionality to be added for identifying locations less vaccinated and how intensified effort could see more people vaccinated in such locations. The platform addresses the lack of a central database to track progress, identify underserved areas using satellite images whilst interpreting vaccination progress data. Using this solution, Africa may be able to speed up the pace of vaccination and if scaled and implemented successfully might serve to develop much-needed fundamental healthcare infrastructure, upon which future vaccination efforts can be built. Many news outlets have used the dataset to engage the government on transparency and accountability as regards the procurement of vaccine, number of vaccine procured in comparison to number of partially or fully vaccinated citizens. The goal is to have 51 African countries vaccination progress data visualized on the Vizta.io dashboard.
